 Second Round Table Conference (1931)  

♦Gandhiji represented the INC and went to London to meet British Prime Minister Ramsay McDonald. 

♦The conference however failed as Gandhiji could not agree with British Prime Minister on his policy of Communal Representation and refusal of the British Government on the basic Indian demand for freedom. 

Third Round Table Conference (1932)  

♦ Proved fruitless as most of the national leaders were in prison. 

 Demand for Pakistan (1940)  

♦The Lahore session of the Muslim League, held on 24th March 1940, passed the Pakistan resolution which contained the demand for separate Muslim nation of Pakistan. Chaudhary Rehmat Ali, was the st one to give the idea of Pakistan.  

Cripps Mission (1940) 

♦ The Cripps Mir was sent to India in 1940 by the British Government to secure the cooperation of Indians in World War II. It proposed the Dominion status in return for cooperation. It was headed by Sir Stafford Cripps.
